Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026. Today's Rain ("we") is operated by MVIRAI. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect and why.

Using the map without an account

• Searches and forecasts. When you search a place or open a forecast, that place is sent to our servers so we can answer. We do not keep a record of who asked for what.
• Your location. Only if you press the "Use my location" button, and only to centre the map and show your local forecast. We do not store it.
• Visitor statistics. We count page views by country and device type, without cookies and without identifying you.
• Technical logs. Like every website, our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs (including IP addresses) for security.

If you create an account

• We store your email address, an optional display name and your saved places.
• If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile with us under Google's own policy. We never see your Google password.
• Sign-in is provided by Google's identity service. Your browser keeps you signed in; we do not use that for tracking.
• We use your email only for sign-in links and, if you choose later, weather alerts for your saved places. No marketing emails without your consent.
• Deletion. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from the account page. It is removed immediately and permanently.

Advertising and cookies

We may show advertisements and affiliate links to keep Today's Rain free. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time. Beyond that, the site sets no tracking cookies.

Service providers

We rely on trusted providers for hosting, content delivery, map imagery and sign-in (including Google). They process data only to provide those services to us.

Your rights

You can view, correct or delete your data from the account page, or email contact@mvirai.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

Today's Rain is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post any changes here with a new "last updated" date.
